We all know that our health is very important. Weight gain and obesity can affect not only your outward appearance; it can affect you internally as well. Depression, anxiety, obsession, and low self-esteem are just a few of the physiological effects of being overweight.
We have all the excuses in the world to not get up and get moving! Trust me, I have been there. I’m too tired, I have children and they keep me busy, I can’t find the time to make it to the gym, the list of excuses can be endless…until your body doesn’t look the way it use to or your body can’t do the things it use to.
Many of these issues, reasons, excuses and situations affect your health they also affect your business too.If you can’t put your best self forward, get up and out to network, converse with potential clients, stay focused, complete tasks, and create positive habits then your career, your goals, your success as an entrepreneur can be thwarted.
You’d be surprised to know that getting up and moving can bring it all together!
Courtnie can help you get out of that rut, let go of all those excuses, and find the time necessary to get YOU back. She can help you mentally get over those health and nutrition barriers, she can help you find foods that are tasty and healthy, she can help you find the time with one-on-one sessions, early morning sessions, and boot camp sessions! You will never have an excuse again and you will love the road to finding you again.
A business woman and a fitness expert, let’s dig in and find out what drives her and see if she can offer any tips to get us back on the road to loving ourselves again.

For those who may not know exactly who you are and what it is that you do. Please introduce yourself and explain what it is that you do?
My name is Courtnie Pierce. I am the owner of Like Water Fitness LLC. I am an advocate and teacher of health and fitness.
How did you get started? Tell us your story.
Although I have been fit for a majority of my life, there was a period in my life that suffered from depression. With that came a host of bad habits and a few health problems. I was oblivious to my weight gain, but acutely aware of how rotten I felt. I was completely stuck. I was hormonally imbalanced and I had a bout with kidney stones. I felt as if my body was turning on me......but really I turned on it. I wasn't loving me. After doing research on the cause of my kidney stones, I discovered that my diet was the culprit. I became very serious about my food choices and the things I put into my body. I began to study and found that our bodies are beautifully designed, and can repair themselves with proper nutrition. Everything I learned, I applied to my personal routine. I dropped 35 pounds and I felt incredible. This was my start. I wanted/needed to share this with everyone that had a desire to feel better, and to look better. People in my circle took notice and encouraged me to pursue this path. Those that can teach have a responsibility to do so. Nutrition is the tool for health, exercise is it's companion. It's not an easy journey......fitness or entrepreneurship.....but it is rewarding.
Do you have a Daily Routine, a specific way that you start your day every day? If so what it is?
I get up. I don't sleep in much, because I don't want to compromise my schedule. Not to mention, clients at 530 am force me out of my slumber. Aside from the annoying melody that is my alarm clock, I always meditate on my future success. I visualize my office, my studio, my long list of clients. I picture myself doing speaking engagements, me at my book signing, the release of my DVD line. I read the letters of grateful clients. I daydream on what that success feels like for a portion of every day.
What habits do you feel attributed to your success?
Consistency. Go at it every day. If I skip a day I don't get down about it, I go at it from that moment. Focus. Constant focus on the goal. Failure is inevitable. I give my failures very little energy at this point. My success is more important.
Are there any habits that you had to overcome in order to become successful? What are they? How can these habits apply to your clients?
Procrastination and self-doubt are my enemies, and we battle often. I think my clients and others that want to embark on a new lifestyle will also struggle with these two things. The "I'll start tomorrow" turns into months. The things that your body seems incapable of doing today prevents you from trying. We all pull from the trick bag from time to time, but we can't let it halt our attempt to be better.
How frequently should I see a trainer?
That depends on you and your current level of fitness. It also depends on how aggressive you want to be in pursuing your goals. A good starting point is two days a week.
What is your super power?
Lol! It depends on the day. Whatever the day requires. I am woman!!
What is your coaching style?
Direct, with love always. I always tell the truth, and I try to coach my clients past what is comfortable for them. I have been where they are. I know what it is to be at the start, to feel like it is a task too difficult, to want to quit. So, I always show empathy. But, my job is to get them to their best self
Do you stay on top of fitness trends and related research?
As much as possible. I hate trends. I stay on top of them mainly to stay in front of my clients indulging in something that will get them off track, or something that has the potential to be harmful. Trends tend to be shortcuts. Shortcuts kill real progress. I study as much valuable literature and technique as I can......anything that will help me serve my clients well.
Do you incorporate nutrition and meal planning into the training?
From general guidance to specific meal planning depending on the service I have been commissioned for. But I preach constantly the importance of a proper diet in any successful fitness/wellness plan.
Are there any health or business tips or tricks you would like to share? Anything you feel future clients or entrepreneurs or both NEED to know.
Be your champion. Come through for you. Perfection is an impossibility (and who could measure it anyway) but your best efforts will take you far. Good health makes your efforts more fruitful and should always be top priority. There are no tricks. Your moves just get better with practice and consistency.
Thank you so much for taking the time to share some of the most intimate details of what makes you successful and motivated!
